  • Real Estate finance (including hotel financing)
  • Securitisations (including the first CMBS transaction in Bermuda)
  • Acquisition finance, debt restructuring, and sovereign debt

Our team is well-regarded for their comprehensive legal knowledge and practical experience in this field.  We have recently acted on a number of significant financing transactions with a Bermuda law element, ranging from commercial facilities for major hotels in Bermuda to loans for Government-backed projects.

Clients we have recently advised on banking and finance matters include:

  • Bank of America – secured loan to Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa, Bermuda (and subsequently securitised);
  • KSL Capital Partners and Blackstone – mortgage-backed loan to the Rosewood Bermuda Resort at Tucker’s Point, Bermuda; and
  • Starwood Property Trust and GoldenTree Asset Management – construction financing of the Fairmont Southampton Hotel, Bermuda.
