MJM’s Private Client team is made up of our Private Wealth group and Real Estate group to provide seamless, partner-led advice to individuals, families, trustees, family offices and institutions with Bermuda interests.

We deliver integrated solutions that align succession and asset protection objectives with the acquisition, holding, financing and disposal of real property, ensuring cohesive planning and efficient execution across every stage of the asset lifecycle. From structuring and safeguarding wealth to acquiring, financing, holding and exiting real estate, we deliver clear, commercially focused advice with a sensitive, client-centred approach across both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Our Private Wealth group advises on both contentious and non-contentious private client matters, with particular expertise in long-term estate, succession, wealth and tax planning, philanthropic structures, and the administration and management of Bermuda law trusts and private trust companies, frequently involving underlying corporate and partnership vehicles. We routinely advise institutional trustees, beneficiaries and trust protectors on Bermuda law issues and regularly act for local and international families, including high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals with multi-jurisdictional investments and complex holding structures.
Our services include estate planning and will drafting, powers of attorney and advanced directives, probate applications and estate administration, trust administration, and receivership applications with ongoing support, all delivered with care, sensitivity and confidentiality.
When disputes arise, we work closely with our Dispute Resolution colleagues on contentious trust and estate matters to provide cohesive, cross‑border support aligned with best practice in the private wealth sector.
Our Real Estate group provides practical, reliable and commercially focused advice across the full spectrum of real estate transactions for residential and commercial clients, including the acquisition, sale and mortgage of freehold and leasehold interests across residential, recreational, resort, industrial, commercial, hotel, office and retail developments. We are especially experienced in advising on the acquisition of Bermuda real estate by non‑Bermudians and act for both lenders and borrowers on residential and commercial mortgages, project financing, secured lending and alternative financing structures, leveraging strong relationships with major Bermuda banks.
Our group prepares and negotiates leases across residential, commercial, hotel, retail and unique properties, and advises on development projects including large residential, commercial, mixed‑use, fractional, condominium, hotel and resort schemes, guiding clients from permitting and construction contracts through to project financing.
Should disputes arise, clients benefit from established mediation, arbitration and litigation support, including specialist advice in property and planning disputes.
