Receivership Applications

Our Private Client team is experienced in making applications to the Supreme Court for the appointment of a Receiver under the Mental Health Act, 1956. Such an application is necessary when a person, the “Patient”, loses legal capacity without having appointed an attorney under an Enduring Power of Attorney. It is the means by which a friend or family member is granted authority to assume responsibility for management of the property and affairs of the Patient. Our attorneys offer expert, efficient and compassionate assistance in a practice area which can be emotionally charged. Once the appointment has been made, our attorneys will provide ongoing assistance to the receiver in preparing annual accounts and advising on best practice.
